Shane Cannon

A 25 year old artist/surfer after graduating with his honors degree from Galway Shane moved back to Achill Island(an Island of the west coast of Ireland) were he has been based for the last two years painting/surfing on Achill and exhibiting online and nationally in both solo and group shows. Probably his most notable solo show was in Galway for the Volvo Ocean Race stop over (the largest festival ever held in ireland) arts trail, sponsored by then WDC (western development commission) Shane held a large solo show of his work in the luxurious five star G hotel. Shane is also sponsored by Billabong wetsuits. His work is based on his experiences as a surfer, his time spent in the elements fuels his subconscious. “my work is about the nature of water and human emotional interaction with water”. His work is already part of collections in the UK, France, Holland and the United States. He has had several profile pieces in national magazines.
