Tom Doidge-Harrison

All Emerald Surfwear boards are custom shaped by Lahinch based Surfer and Shaper Tom Doidge-Harrison of dh surfboards. Tom has been fascinated by surfboards since he first held one in his youth. These fantastic and pivotal pieces of hardware, that take us to our favorite places, are where Tom DH puts his creative energies. Tom had his work cut out to gain his early salty exposures and as such has maintained his stoke into his thirties and after years of wanderings the West Coast of Ireland has become his haven, with County Clare providing an evolving mix of solitude and companionship and also some of the world’s finest waves. Against this curious backdrop Tom DH has mingled with dusty board building magicians, genius (borderline obsessive) surfers operating on the fringes, the young professionals making their living and staking all on (and at the mercy of) their aquatic, acrobatic abilities and the unique characters framing the whole show in their viewfinders. The by-product of this is ‘dh surfboards’, the result of a mix of influences from the edge of Europe, providing original, hand-made, custom surfboards for any wave and any surfer.
