Mark Lyons

Growing up in West Clare gave Mark Lyons an appreciation for nature and rugged landscapes and this is reflected in his photography. His evocative, moody images of dramatic skies and stark shapes make the ordinary look extraordinary and take the viewer deep into the landscapes he depicts. His work is heavily influenced by the coast, with water featuring strongly and he has a great affinity for rural scenes. Nature and heritage sights are among his favorite themes, while he takes a new look at many everyday scenes. Mark regularly chases sunrises and sunsets to find the perfect light for his stunning photographs.

His quest for new subjects and vistas have taken him all over the country and his striking use of colour is instantly eye-catching. His range of photographs and subject matters showcase his skills in many genres of photography and highlight his eagerness to push boundaries and learn new techniques.
